Aur Phir Aaya Ramzaan

Photo by Ahmed Aqtai from Pexels

Aur phir aaya Ramzan;
is baar kuch alag rangon mein,

Chaand toh nazar aaya wahi,

Magar duniya thi badli hui.

Sajaa thaa shayad koi dargah,

Par har ghar tha apna masjid,

Apnon mein hi thi sehri,

Apnon mein hi iftaar.

Jahan saath galey milkar

Manaaya jaata thaa tyohaar,

Iss baar ghar band rehkey

Sabney Jataaya pyaar.

Sar salamat toh pagdi pachaas,

Yehi yaad rakhey humney bhari ek aas.

Par phir bhi hui wohi khushi

Jab bujhi din bhar ki pyaas,

jashn tha hamaara roza,

yeh sajda-e-ramzan.

Jinka thaa yeh pehla roza,

Ek alag tha yeh ehsaas,

Par kya hota hai ramzan

Yeh samjhna thaa aasaan.

Jab kari sab ne sacchi neki

Banney sab allah ki santaan,

Jab saath milkey, bina dekhey koi fark,

Hum sab saath banney insaan.

Na hindu, na sikh, na isaai, na musalmaan,

Yeh aisa gazab ayaaya ramzaan,

ke hum sab ko mila ek aisa mauka

ke hum sab saath baney insaan.

Aao sajda karey yeh ramzaan,

Saath bannker hum insaaan.

Easing Open The Lockdown Intelligently Could Save Us All

India, or most countries, cannot survive another extended lockdown. So it would be a good idea to start working on easing open the economy while managing the crisis. An endless lockdown will only result in chaos for everybody.

Here are my two bits on how we could possibly work on opening up the economy through the Covid-19 crisis:

1. Educate the masses about self care, sanitation and precautionary measures.

2. Focus on fitness and nutrition majorly as the only thing currently proven to battle the disease is a robust body with a strong immune system.

3. Divide medical care into 3 segments - home care, clinical care and institutionalised care. With heavy focus on enabling and empowering home care.

4. Cycle the lockdown on a one month on one month off basis for 6 months so that at no time is the spread of the virus or care of the sick out of control without shutting down the economy.

5. Empower all establishments to manage their own sanitation and precautionary systems like
A) Enabling gyms to have a personal training only policy for 6 months
B) Allowing schools to set up a santitation capsule at the entry and allow only one book and pen (minimal items) per student - while allowing home schooling equally.
C) Running public transport through heavy sanitation systems and make the schedule stringent to avoid unnecessary travel
D) Severely subsidize electricity and internet to enable more efficient work from home systems for companies.

6. Instead of locking down everyone, prioritze safeguarding only the ones at HIGH RISK.
"Instead of trying to suppress the coronavirus across every section of society, you could instead aim to stop it completely for the most vulnerable."Prof Mark Woolhouse, from the University of Edinburgh, said: "Very crudely, for 80% of us who are not vulnerable this is a nasty virus, but it wouldn't overwhelm the healthcare system and it wouldn't lock down society.

We can definitely brainstorm on this one for more ideas. More ideas are always welcome.

Here's a simple infographic explaining the same:

#stopthemyoung : Little Notes Towards Being Better Human Beings (read not sexual abusers, rapists and bullies)

For how much ever I want to break the faces of rapists, I know that for every face I could probably break, there are a thousand others growing into those same faces.
Getting into shit company, filthy peers, crass media education about what's acceptable and not (yes bollywood especially) and even bad family and societal influences is something that most children and even some adults feel unable to get out of.

I grew up in a hostel full of sexual abusers, I lived and grew up in areas where I learnt about the darkest sides of society (antophill and prateeksha nagar and a lot of crime rich regions) , I came across a lot of "professional white collar circles" too with utter disrespect for women... But somehow I always managed to keep myself out of it. I was lucky, but I also know many who gave in. And many who revel in such mindsets.

Which is why, apart from my request to the govt to treat juvenile rapists above age 15 as adult criminals and to speed up the law and sensitize the police to handling sexual offences, this is a bunch of little notes that I think might just help a few misguided or about to be misguided people, see the right road.

Ps: Thanks to my buddy Vinayak Patil who hosted a live chat with me yesterday, triggering me to do this. And take the initiative to push for change, no matter how small.

PPS: DO KEEP IN MIND THAT THESE NOTES APPLY TO BOYS AND GIRLS ALIKE.
